Black & Blue Pancakes

This fruity and nutty pancake recipe offers a distinctive difference on your next breakfast for dinner night!

My family really loves pancakes! My son will remind me that they are his favorite food if I don't make them once a week.  Sometimes I like to add a special touch and flavor to them by adding black walnuts to the mixture.

My kids like the consistency of nuts added into the pancakes while every adult I have served this recipe to remarks how much they like that distinct hearty flavor of black walnuts! It is differently decadent!

This recipe makes 6-8 pancakes. Which is just the right size for my family, but if your kids are a little older than mine, you will want to double this recipe!

Black & Blue Pancakes

2 cups of Blueberry Pancake Mix
1/2 cup of crushed black walnuts
1 cup of water
1/3 cup of milk

Mix ingredients well. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes.
Heat your griddle to 325 degrees. Spray with cooking spray.

Pour 1/4 cup portions of batter onto the griddle.
Flip when the bubbling of the batter slows.
Cook for an additional minute.
Serve warm, with butter and your choice of syrup.

How do you like your pancakes? If you have a favorite recipe, tell me all about it in a comment!
